Intel Extreme Masters Season 14 brings the rivalry between North American and European CSGO teams under the spotlights of Chicago’s United Center, on July 20 & 21. With a quarter million US dollars at stake, the intercontinental showdown in the Windy City is sure to give fans two days to remember.

INTEL EXTREME MASTERS SEASON 14 CHICAGO – EVENT OVERVIEW

The Intel Extreme Masters events are one of the world’s largest and most exciting CSGO tournaments, constantly attracting some of the best teams and players and the largest audiences, both physical and online. Its 76 iteration, the Chicago 2019 promises to follow the same recipe.

Centered around the rivalry between the US and European CSGO Teams, the event taking place in July in the United Arena, the home of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, will celebrate the best of the best in professional Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

An epic transatlantic showdown, with four teams from each region facing-off for a $250,000 prize pool,  intercontinental bragging rights and a win counting towards the $1,000,000 Intel Grand Slam Season 2.

IEM SEASON 14 CHICAGO 2019 – FORMAT

The main IEM Season 14 Chicago event will take place on 20th & 21 July but before stepping into the spotlight of United Center’s main stage, the 8 teams will face each other backstage, between July 18th – 19th. The official IEM Season 14 format is:

The Group Stage – Backstage (18th – 19th July)
The Qualified or invited teams will be placed in two double-elimination Groups based on the ESL CSGO World Rankings. Matches are played in a BO3 format with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Playoffs.

The Playoffs – Public Event (20th – 21st July)
This is the main event that will see the top two teams from each group will face off in the BO3 semifinals, leading into the BO5 Grand Final.

IEM Season 14 Chicago will feature 8 teams. Europe and North America will receive three invites and one qualifier each. Currently, there is no official information regarding the Qualifiers or the invited teams, but we will keep you updated as we learn more.

The total prize pool for the IEM Chicago 2019 will be $250,000 USD divided as follows:

      • 1st Place: $125,000
      • 2nd Place: $50,000
      • 3rd-4th Places: $25,000
      • 5th-6th Places: $8,500
      • 7th-8th Places: $4,000
