There’s a reason why LEC Spring 2019 is one of the most important LoL tournaments of the year. Looking at the previous year’s Twitch and YouTube viewing hours and physical presence in the arena, this year we’re in for a treat.
LEC – The League of Legends European Championship – represents the new format of the now retired EU LCS. When LOL moved to league franchising, this system was dropped and the LEC now features teams that are considered permanent partners.

LEC SPRING 2019 FORMAT
Group Stage takes place between January 18th – March 16th, 2019
Double Round Robin with each team playing 18 Bo1-matches.
Top 6 teams qualify to the Summer Playoffs
Top 2 teams are seeded into Semifinals
Remaining 4 teams are seeded into Quarterfinals
1st place team from Group Stage will select their opponent from Quarterfinals
2nd place team from Group Stage will face the remaining team from Quarterfinals
Matches are played in a Single Elimination Bo5 format
